| Bio: | I will give you the general overview of who I am and how I operate. If you don't like it...move along. Quickly. If you do...hang for a while. (BTW, this "list" is in no particular order.) :x: I am an average-looking woman in her thirties living in the godforsaken midwest (I actually live 30 mins outside of Chicago, so it's not like I am in the middle of corn-land) with one cats who I call my child. :x: I work for a HUGE international logistics company as an IT Support Specialist (aka, I work a Hell Desk) for a proprietary Customs/import system for the U.S. I still do some side work for 1 of my previous 9 bosses (same logistics company, different position) for "bribes." :x: I am college edumacated...got myself a BSCIS from DeVry University in October 2002. Not that that carries a lot of weight or anything. :x: I'm an only child who was spoiled beyond her dreams as a child (being also the only grandchild and only niece on one side of the family) but was taught NOT to let it go to my head. :x: I rarely use shorthand/slang when I IM or post - I am also too old to pretend I am a script kiddie or a youngun. :x: This is my place to rant, rave, bitch, whine, moan, complain, etc. If you don't like it, don't read it. Memes will always be behind cuts, as will extremely long posts. I rarely make friends-only posts, so updating my friends page sometimes takes a while - don't take it personally if you don't appear there right away. :x: I do not label myself. I have no labels in the sense of being grouped by society: I am not a goth, I am not a preppie, I am not a yuppie, I am not a punk, I am not a geek (not officially), I am not a hippie, I am not a nerd, I am not a dork (most of the time), I am not super-intelligent, I am not stone-stupid, I am not a druggie, I am not a drunk, I am not a "goody-two-shoes", I don't match up with the description of GenXer (even though chronologically I am one)...etc. People call me a follower...OK, but it doesn't mean I am a sheep...just means I don't want the sheep looking to me for guidance as their leader. :x: I do NOT have low self-esteem. At 5'3" and 190 pounds, there is NO way I am not considered overweight. I am certainly no heifer, but I ain't a size 10. I ain't fugly, but I ain't gorgeous. My looks are middle of the road: you either like the way I look or you don't. My weight is heavier than I'd truly like, but when I feel like changing that, I will. You don't like it, your loss - more cushion for the pushin' and more of me to love. I don't give a rat's ass what "society" thinks of me - strangers' opinions do not sway me. :x: I listen to damned-near every kind of music out there - from certain industrial bands to classical to metal to rock to pop to country to...well, you get the picture. :x: I am still what used to be considered a tomboy. I am more comfortable in a pair of sweats/jeans and a t-shirt than anything else even though I own a large number of skirts. I swear like a trucker with Tourette's outside of work and certain family members. :x: I tend to be moody (never have been able to handle stress well) and opinionated. :x: I meditate, believe in ghosts/spirits, believe in Karma, and have a semi-working sixth sense. I am more Pagan than any other form of religion, but love to learn about all types of religions. I will avoid violence at all costs...unless there is something that is threatening my life or those I love. I think that's it - me in a (large) nutshell. I am me. Take me or leave me. | |||||||||
